Tethering / Sim card slot not available?

Not that i want to use my Tablet as a phone, but since I have an extra sim card, I wanted to place it in the tablet, but I do not see a place for it, all I can find is a slot for micro Sd. But I always heard there was a slot for using the sim card.
According to this site it is possible.

Another thing I was trying to do, is connect the tablet directly to the laptop via tethering, I was following this tutorial, but this field about tethering does not exist on my tablet.
I saw another tutorial about connecting directly via usb, is that possible on this model?

What is going on?
My tablet is the GT-N5110, Android version 4.2.2

Thanks.

The GT-N5110 is a wifi-only tablet. No SIM slot because it's not a phone. No tethering for the same reason. There are different versions of the Note 8 - the 510 is a phone.

OK, thanks Rukbat.

If someone knows a way to connect it to the laptop via usb cable, that would be great, till then: bluetooth.

just plug it in the usb. Your computer should download the drivers open up the the drive folders on your computer you should see the hard drive of you note 8 and the sd card file as well. you can drag and drop any files ect...

I forgot to mention that I am using linux, not windows.
If it is possible to do it on windows, there must be a way to do it on linux as well, I'll have to dig in the Linux forums I guess.

I googled a bit just now and found that I need to install mtp tools on laptop and to go to the USB options on the tablet and select to connect as media device (MTP) but I do not find that option anywhere.

More googling: When USB cable is connected, there is an icon on top left corner, clicking on it opens the USB mass storage options.
Still not recognized under Linux though.

Thank you.
