You would have to do it wirelessly since the tablet s doesn't support tethering from usb port. Not sure if it supports ad-hoc connections though in it's stock form. You may need to root it.

yeah that's what i didn't want
because i updated the firmware to ice cream sandwich and the rooting for it is complicated. .

Bummer. I just rooted the stock rom and debloated it. Maybe you can downgrade?

To downgrade? I am not sure but i have heard it mentioned. Even still, i don't know if it would be capable of connecting to an ad-hoc network, which is what the Esteem would be putting out as a hotspot.
