Tethering

Does anyone know of an app that would display who is connected to my Huawei Ideos (2.2) when used as a wifi access point, and (ideally) how much data traffic each is generating?
I use the inbuilt tethering app, but there seems to be no way to monitor who is accessing it.
I am looking for something like JoikuSpot (Symbian app, used on a Nokia E63) which displays details of connected clients eg MAC address.

Put a password on it and no one without will be able to access it.

There are a few apps for tethering, but they usually require root access.
