Text/Call notifications using Desktop Vizualizer

I am running LP+ and i decided to switch up my look a little bit. I was wondering how i can get missed notifications for calls and text when i use desktop visualizer. I know with LP+ you can set dock notifications so i can see missed calls and texts but I dont know how to get the reminders when they are not in my dock.
