Text Emoticon help

[ell290689]

Hi there, forgive me if i'm not posting in the right section but i need help with my phone.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and i want to know how to get rid of the green alien emoticons that appear in my texts, i've had my phone for around 4 months now and they only seem to have started showing up a few days ago.

Is there a way to get back to just the normal smileys without having an emoticon?

Any help would be great, Thanks

You just noticed them a few days ago that's all, or your friends have started using Androids too, or are using smileys in this format : - ) (minus the spaces of course). Its automatic, built into the SMS app. The only way to not see the emoticons is to use another SMS app that has an option to disable them. I think Go SMS Pro has that option.
