Text Message Notification

I am looking for an app that will convert a text message to a phone call that I can listen to. I well tell you the scenario that I want it for. When driving, my HTC Desire phone is connected to my car through bluetooth. I usually keep my phone in a storage area or in my pocket. When I receive a text message, I am often unaware of this. What I would like is for me to receive a phone call which will translate the text message using text to speech so that I can listen to it through the cars system, just like I was receiving a normal voice call. This way, I will not miss a text message and will not have to take my eyes of the road to get my phone and read the text message. Is anyone aware of such an application?

All I know, is using the stock Google voice command app (at least on T-mobile S2) in Driving Mode, text messages are automatically read back to you.

Thanks for the reply. The thing is that I want to be able to listen to the message through my car setup i.e. i get a call, answer it which mutes the car stereo and then the phone call plays my text message. Hope this makes sense.

You can use an app like Voice Actions. It can read messages to you if you tell it to. Its kinda like Siri, but completely hands free.
