Help Text message notifications not coming in

I have a one x. All of a sudden this weekend my text notifications aren't working. A text will come in. I don't get a notification. The indicator light doesn't flash. The text icon doesn't show a number. But if I open the text app I see new unopened messages. Anyone else having this problem?
 
Sorry if you've already tried this but could you try and do this for me...

Inside your messing app which im guessing is the stock version go to Menu>Settings>Notifications

Then untick received notification and tick it again and see if that solves your problem, may sound to simple but worth a shot if you have not tried it already

I've had a weird one like this too. Sometimes I'll not receive a text for a long time, so I'll press the power button to wake the screen on my One X and suddenly the texts will come in, like they were in a queue waiting for me to turn the screen on.
 
I am using the stock app. I'll try checking and unchecking the notifications box. Hopefully that will fix the problem. If not, do you think installing a third party app will work?
 
You could try installing a third party app, I have Handcent SMS and I have never looked back :)

Hopefully something that simple will fix it

Unchecking the notification box seems to have helped. I'll test it for a few days to see how it goes.

I had handcent on my inspire. I could try that one again if this doesn't work.
