Text message problem

I never had this problem initially but now when i recieve a text, i open it and read it. But when i close the message the message icon is still in the top left of the screen. And the rollerball continues to flash every now and then even though i have alread read the message! Only way to stop this was to delete the message but sometimes i like to keep messages! Is this a bug or am i missing something?

Are you ruinning more than one text messaging program, or just using the default one that came with the phone?

To quell the trackball light after receipt of a message, go to your notifications instead of directly to the Messages app. The light will stop using that procedure.

Thanks for the reply. I will give that a go. I just don't understand why it has started to do this. I have to delete every message i get now so that the message icon will dissapear.
