Text message reminder app problem

Hi there,

I'm new to the Android OS so please be gentle lol.

I have a HTC Desire and basically I hate that there's no text message reminder option build into the Android OS. Anyway, I've tried a few apps that deal with this problem but none of them seem to work. From what I've seen they work until the screen turns off, after that they no longer seem to reminder you.

Am I doing something wrong?
