Help text message ringtones

is there anyway to change those per contact? i would really like to know whos texting me before i even pick up my phone
 
I've been told the only way is to download another messaging program cause the stock one doesn't have this feature. Don't quote me on that though.
 
I downloaded a few but they all had adds and they were annoying so I deleted then before I played around with their features lol. I think they were chomp and handsent. Or something like that
