Help Text messages not coming through right away when I turn phone on

When I turn my phone on in the morning it can take a little bit for the messages that were sent to me while my phone was off to come through. I either have to wait a bit or if I send a message right after I turn my phone on they all come through as soon as I get a reply. After that text works perfect. Does this happen to anyone else? It's an AT&T Note 2.

Yes that is normal. Its on a cycle from carrier
