I want to know how not to view my incoming text messages on taskbar but I still want to know when I get a text!
Also, if there is a free app that can hide text messages completely please let me know as I would definitely want that!

With handcent you can set the messages to not popup and not show in the task bar.
I have mine set to not show messages from select people. It will still notify you of the message but you have to go into the app to read them.

You need to tell us what app you're using if you want specific instructions. The general instructions are: adjust your messaging app settings. If your messaging app doesn't offer the options you need then look into another messaging app.

Clarify what you mean. Are you asking about how to hide the messaging app entirely? Hide specific messages? Please give us details. We can only work with what you tell us.

On regular messaging app press menu then settings there is an option to disable notification on status bar
