Text messages

Even when I have my phone on vibrate, when I get a text message, it won't vibrate. The screen pops up to the lock screen and the envelope shows in the top corner, but no vibration.

1) How do I get it to vibrate? (Looked under the message settings and it only appears to have the option for sound)

2) Also, is there a way to get a preview of the message to come up on the lock screen when the message comes?

In Text Settings near the bottom there's Notification Settings. I have Notifications, Select Ringtone, and Vibrate. Vibrate has choices of always, only in silent mode, and never.

Not sure about the text setting. I thought the screen lighting up when I got a text would be problem, but it doesn't show the message so I'm good with it.

That's odd. What carrier do you have? I'm on Verizon. I have this:

Very true. What's the point of it anyway if it doesn't even show the message... So you can see you got a message from across the room? The big blue LED should be good enough!

Yea, I have AT&T...It seems strange. How could they leave that off?

Maybe it's a trade off. I don't have a WiFi toggle in the notification area.
