Text Messaging App - spam?

[redmelons]

I've started receiving notifications about an 'update' to an application called 'Text Messaging' by Thumbfly Technologies. I don't have this app installed, so Google Play then invites me to install it.

How is this app able to put it's 'update' message in my notifications bar when I don't have it installed, and how do I stop these notifications please? This seems to me to be unwanted spamming by Thumbfly Technologies.

It's might be aggressive advertising, pushed by ad networks like AirPush and caused by a recently installed or updateted app on your phone.

This thread will help you to catch the culprit app ...
