Help Text Messaging Issue

robinnn_c

Lurker
Whenever I receive a text, it displays on the screen that I received it a few minutes ahead of the actual time it was sent (ex: the time on my phone is 6:02 but the text says it came in at 6:04). Then when I respond to the text it shows my text was sent the time corresponding to what my phone says (ex: my text goes out at 6:02 like the time on my phone says whereas the message from my friend still says it was sent a time ahead of what it really is). This wouldn't really bug me except for the fact that once my message is sent it looks as if I sent it before my friend's message and after a long chain of messages it gets confusing as heck. Has anyone else had this issue and knows how to solve it? I thought it had to do with the version I was running(ICS), so I updated my phone to Jellybean, but I still have the same text message issue.

It sounds like the messaging application has a time sync issue. Is your phone set to get it's time automatically from the carrier or do you set it manually. If manual, select automatic update of date and time. If this isn't the case, or automatic date and time doesn't fix the problem I'd suggest contacting AT&T assistance for text messaging.

Ahh, I had it set to manual. Just changed it to automatic, hopefully it'll fix it. Thanks for the advice!
