Root Text messaging no longer working

So my text messaging stopped working all of a sudden a few days ago. My data and voice are working just fine, but it will not send or receive a text message. Every time I try to send a text it fails. My wife and friends have tried texting me and they don't go through.

When it happened, I was running Tagged 1.0.4. I decided to try a different ROM to see if it would fix the issue. I installed ICS Elite and again, same problem. No texting.

I called Virgin Mobile and they were stumped. They had me re-enter my MDN and MSID and it did nothing to fix the issue. They said they would send the issue to a higher level and that it would take 3-5 business days. I have had them do this before and never heard back from them.

Any idea as to what could be causing this? I really don't want to buy a new phone.

Flash the stock ROM Leslie posted and see if you have the issue. If so it almost has to be something on VM's side. If your calling an data work I can't see it being an issue with the phone. Make them figure it out and if it's the phone see if you're under 1 year warranty and if so have them send you a phone.

I'm pretty sure it's on VM's side. Their customer service department is terrible. If it can't be solved by verifying your MDN and MSID values or a battery pull, they have no idea what to do. I found a direct number for one of the higher-ups in CSR and will give it a go tomorrow.

It just doesn't make sense to me that it could be a phone issue, not a service issue. Voice and data work just fine, and it happened out of the blue. I hadn't made any changes to the phone or even rebooted it when they stopped going through.

That happened on my old Straight Talk 6790 Surge phone. They told me to factory reset it and it worked.

I did a factory reset, reactivated the phone, and still same issue. Data and voice work just fine, still no text. It's definitely on their end now. Too bad their customer service isn't worth a damn.

Have you asked for a new phone maybe? Could be am antenna issue in the phone who knows. Maybe the MMS Messaging center # was changed.
