Help Text Messaging Notification Help

Hi All

Wondering if anyone can help with a question i have in relation to text messaging notifications.

Basically when i am viewing ALL of my contacts conversations in the text message app (i.e. overview of all messages), i get a notification tone when i get a new message - which is normal.

However when i am IN a text message conversation with a person, and then leave the conversation with that person up on the screen while i 'lock' the phone (blank screen) i then get NO notification tone that someone has messaged me later on... therefore i dont know that i have been messaged.

So...Is there anyway i can rectify this via setting or is it a standard setting within the phone?

I wouldn't say this is unexpected, I mean if you're viewing that conversation it would seem obvious that you would see the message appear. However, Handcent SMS doesn't do this and I'm sure you'll be able to find an external notification app to notify you anyway.
