I just got my parents set up with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 on my Verizon share everything plan and I'm trying to find a way to have my mom text message on it. The messages can either come from the number of the line the tablet is on, the home phone, (which I also put on my plan as a home phone connect I'm porting in number on tomorrow) or either of their cell phones. They both currently have a pay as you go phone, and I think my mom does some sort of seperate prepaid card for text messaging or a plan card that has more texts then minutes. My dad has his prepaid phone and usually runs out of airtime on the cards before the minutes! I'm looking for a way to have my mom text from the tablet, she can use the home phone for her long distance calls, have them possibly be able to use the tablet for calls if they are away from home and together, and just have one of the prepaid phones so they have something to use if one of them goes out for a bit (or 18 holes!). Verizon messages wont work due to they don't have an android phone to link it to. I'm reading up on google voice now but not sure if that will work the way I'm wanting! So, I'm looking at the end result of being able to cancel one of the prepaid phones, keeping one for emergency, having the tablet to be used to at least send text messages, and they can make all their calls from the home phone!!! I'm pretty sure there is way but if anyone knows anything that might help or any suggestions or recommendations, all information would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance
