text msg quesiton

when you compose a txt can you bring up a list of your contact or do you have to type their name in? im using the stock app and i know u can prolly do this with hancent but wanted to know if you can with the stock app.

As you start typing their name in, suggestions show up. You have to pick the name off of the list.
