Hubby and I have checked all sounds and volumes that we can find. All volumes are up, notifications selected. It just quit sounding a couple of days ago. I had turned the sound off on my camera, thought maybe some sort of connection there. I turned it back on a while ago. My daughter was texting me. It sounded for about 5 texts all of a sudden but then stopped again. Any ideas? I've checked the sounds and vols in settings and under the settings within the app (stock). It still makes the notification sounds for calls. But now that I think about it, it's not been notifying me of twitter updates either. I have email turned off, have since day 1. Don't want that constant sound.

Help Text Notification on Turbo Droid Stopped

Try running in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added without uninstalling them). If the problem stops it was caused by an app that you added.

What did you find out? This has happened to me as well. Was it an App, if so, which one? I assume more than one app could cause this, but just want see if there was one on your device that I also have on mine that could be causing this issue!
Well the funny thing on mine was that in device settings I had Notifications and vibrations on. When I looked at the app settings for my Messages the Sound was set to "Silent", which explains why I wasn't getting any alerts. Not sure how that happened, but I selected a stock alert tone and the Sound and vibration is back!
