Help Text Notification Question

Silly question but every time I turn on my LG Spectrum I get a notification I have text messages in the notification area. This is because I have old text messages (that I have read) from the day before or earlier.

I use Handcent SMS primarily, but even if I go into the stock SMS before turning it off, the notification appears when I power the phone back up.

Not a big deal, just annoying. Thoughts? Stock phone, no root.

Yeah, this sounds like the old "clear cache and data" from all text apps; stock and 3rd party from the Store. You'll have to reconfigure the apps if you do the clear data thing.

You might try first just removing the texts, after backing them up to a file somewhere on your device or computer via USB, etc. Restart your phone after any action you take, then let us know how things are going.

If you're using a third party app... Go into the stock messaging app and disable notifications
