Is it possible to turn off the vibratation for notifications?

Not sure, except settings>sound>vibration intensity; you can turn the notification vibration all the way down.

To turn off vibration for text notifications, first open up the messaging app, then tap menu/settings, scroll down to the bottom and de-select Vibrate.
