Help text ringtones

I used to have a different ringtones assigned to different people so that I could be more efficient with my time by not having to look at the phone everytime it went off. Id it possible to do that now. AS near as I can tell one ring tone for all text and it is driving me crazy. :confused:
 
You will want to download a third party app to customize to that level. Most android "stock" apps are designed to give you some degree of flexibility, but for ultimate control and customization you will want a third party app.

For SMS/MMS, Handcent and GO SMS are two apps that many people recommend. I have used both, and currently prefer GO SMS. Both are free, both allow a high level of customization.
