Help Text selection problems

I have made the move from my iPhone to the Samsung Note 2.

I love it with one exception...

Selecting text is almost impossible!

For example: editing the browser URL or editing a cell on a web form gets so frustrating.

If I have entered text and want to change it I simply cannot get the cell to be selected so the keyboard appears.

What am I doing wrong?

In the text cell, tap once in the area of the text to bring up a cursor that you can slide back and forth to place between the letters you want the cursor to be at so you can edit. Long press to get a pop up to choose "select word" or "Select Text" to bring up two markers to slide to mark the beginning and end of text you want to select or edit. At least, that is how it works on my Droid 3 and should be the same or improved on Jelly Bean.

I can repeatedly tap a text cell, hear the tap sound, but no keyboard pops up.

Seems to me either I am doing something very wrong or the Note 2 has some screen accuracy problems.

I am becoming used to the constant tapping because everything else is perfect, it is a shame though.

I wish I could advise you more, but until they release the Note 2 here in the U.S., I've already offered the best I can. It does sound like it isn't working the way it should.

Can you at least long press and get options?? Maybe there is a glitch with your particular phone. No one with a Note 2 seems to be stepping up to help.

Thanks BleedingPurist really appreciate yours and everyone's feedback.

Evohicks, have you experienced the same?

How do we feed back to Samsung/Android/Google?
