Just got a new andoid phone after years of lackluster iOS. Phone is a galaxy s7 and provider is AT&T.

I want to customize the following settings and am not sure how to do so.

1. I want my phone to recognize that just because I missed a letter key and hit a number key to still use autocorrect. Like making "wo4d" autocorrect to "word" on its own.

2. I want the dictionary to guess other words not just starting with the same letter. Like how "qord" doesn't suggest "word" as a possible correction.

3. I want to move or remove keys from the keyboard. The period key is right when my thumb naturally goes for the space bar especially when entering information in a we browser.

4. When I go back to fix a spelling issue at the end of a word I would like the autocorrect to recognize that it's not a new word I am typing. Like how I will type "dictionsrt" and go back to fix it only to have it autocorrect to "dictionArya.

5. I want to be able to set my screen time out to 10 min in high power mode and 1 min in low power mode.

6. Why do I have three question marks on my keyboard. I'd like to move the period button over to where the redundant double question mark button is.

7. If I am typing and hit a period or punctuation rather than space between a word I would like autocorrect to recognize this and space the words accordingly.

8. I want to disable automatic delete of the space I put after a word. Like I want to write 10 - 09 but my phone autocorrects it to 10- 09.

Anyone know how to correct these issues? Lots of small quality of life changes that would make this phone even more perfect.

I don't have an S7, so can't advise on the screen time out question (not all phones have the same software, and Samsung change the user interface more than any other mainstream manufacturer).

For the rest, your best bet is probably to try a different keyboard. There are a lot of alternative keyboards in the Play Store, and it's very easy to install, switch or uninstall if you don't like one. For example, I know that your number 4 is not a problem with SwiftKey (and whatever is going on with number 6 is surely specific to your current app). You'll find that autocorrect is almost always biassed by the first character of a word, though some will do better than others.

Probably some of them will only be fixed by turning off autocorrect (which has other obvious drawbacks). But see what keyboards other people are using, give some of them a try and see what works for you. Remember that each keyboard app will have its own settings. Also there's a little bit of getting used to a different keyboard, so it's best to give a new one a few days before giving up on it.

This is an example of one of the key things about Android: you are not limited to the built-in apps, so if those don't quite do what you want there are almost certainly alternatives.

Is there a way to make Fleksy autocorrect work off the original word typed?

It makes a usually good guess but sometimes it's fairly off and then when I tell it to try again it bases it's next suggestion off of the new word and not the originally typed word. This usually leads to a more and more incorrect suggestion as it gets further away from the originally typed word.

Like how "annoucment" autocorrects to "Annoy documents" and then the next suggestion is "among documented" and then "aiming document ad" and then "singing divine MT as" so on and so forth until its nothing like the original mistake.
