I have a droid x and I use the speach to text a lot when texting. However, I have found out that it only works when you have a data connection or on wifi. Is there an app that does this without any data or wifi?
Try the SVOX voices, the engine downloads the data files, so the sound is generated locally. It's a pretty good engine, and affordable. They support many languages, and offer trials of each voice.
Thanks for your reply. I looked at this app. It appears that it only reads text aloud to you. I am actually looking for the opposite. I would like to talk into the phone and have it type the text for me without data usage. Any ideas?
Good voice recognition is pretty resource intensive, so not sure if you will find the perfect solution. That said, there are a few apps out there, and this one seems to have positive ratings.
