Help Text To Speech

Duckster

Android Enthusiast
I have scoured the internet and searched here, but I can't find out how to stop the announcement options of my texts. When I receive a text, it reads aloud "TEXT FROM XXXX, LISTEN NOW?", and then it gives me an option to select yes or no.

Here is what I have tried so far:
1. Deleting possible offending and latest of software (Motorola text to speech, Greenify, Tone & Talk, Language Texts)
2. I don't have driving mode so I made sure HANDS FREE MODE was not selected (it was not)
3. Reviewed APPLICATIONS NOTIFICATIONS (nothing bad there)
4. Reviewed NOTIFICATION ACCESS (only QUICK GLANCE was selected by default)
5. Checked ACCESSIBILITY settings (all seem okay for now)

I see lots of folks compaining about this but their fixes did nto work for me. I just updated to Lollipop 3 days go, but I didn't have this problem until this morning. There have lots of restarts for various reasons in between with no problems.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm NOT going to do a system reset.......unless it is an ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT.

Thanks in advanced.

OK...I think I fixed my own problem. But for those who have not, (assuming that you have this issue), here is my fix:

I found a second Motorola software called My MotoSpeak (mom gave it to me to go along with my car finder device). Once I deleted that, I no longer received the verbal text notifications. Just to test it out, I reinstalled My MotoSpeak and it now works find. I think that it may have just gotten corrupted some how.

Thanks for listening and I hope that this helps someone else.
