Help Texting Issue on TB

I've searched for a similar problem and couldn't find one, so here goes. All help will be greatly appreciated. My daughter has a stock TB and is using Handcent for texting. This issue occurs with both the stock texting app and Handcent. She has one friend that she knows is sending her texts, but she isn't receiving them. I thought that maybe he was just through with her and wasn't sending anything, but he called her and wanted to know why she wasn't replying to his texts. We are in NC and he is in CA (if that makes any difference.) I have checked her blacklist and there is nothing on it. We call VZW Tech Support (what a joke) and they opened a ticket. Anybody have any ideas? At present, we aren't sure if the problem is on her end or his. All other texts to her show up, just not his. He is getting texts from others and they are getting his. I'm at a loss. I'm about ready to factory reset her handset, but wanted to see if anybody else has any ideas.

I have been having this issue with my TB intermittently since March using stock and GoSMS. I've had problems at home and when traveling for work. I have opened 3 different "engineering" tickets and have yet to find a solution. I have problems missing inbound texts form multiple phones on multiple carriers. Have not had an issue with outbound texts (that I know of).
I regularly visit My Verizon>>View Usage>>View Messaging Details to see what messages I have received. Not all of the shown messages make it to my phone. VERY FRUSTRATING!! This might be a way to see who's end the problem is on though.
Sorry I do not know of a fix at this time. Please let me know if you have any success. Good luck...

I had the same issue with one of my friends about six months ago. Apparently she updated her phone to sync with FB and it pulled my number from there. In the process it added a "1" to the beginning of my number and that's when I stopped receiving texts from her.

Not sure if your daughter is still having the same issue. If so she needs to let her friend out CA know that he needs to edit her number to make sure the "1" isn't there or the FB number is the default. Granted there might something else going on but figured I'd offer up my problem/fix as a possible solution.
