Texting Issue - Very Bizarre, no possible answer

There is one person that I need to text to fairly routinely. When I send just words, I get an error "Text not sent, tap to resend'. This just repeats each time I try.

However, I can send this person GIFs. I can also send this person GIFs with text (words). Only cannot send words alone.

I feel like I'm in a bad skit where people can only communicate with gifs...

I am on Verizon, the other person is on AT&T.
 
Not sure what you've tried or not but...
Try clearing cache for your texting app: settings/apps/find the app/clear cache (and then force stop it just for fun).
Try another app if you are using stock, Textra is nice. Sometimes the stock/default SMS/MMS apps just don't play nice.

Thanks - just tried your suggestions but they didn't help. I'll try textra.

This is so strange, I text a lot of people and this is the only one I have trouble with...
 
I use ChompSMS that is Textra's big brother. Both are excellent.

You could also do a Wipe Cache Partition deleting all temporary data and mot touching permentat data, added apps.

Where would I find this Wipe Cache Partition?
 
Textra has worked really well for me, it's a nice app. Glad it seems to solve the issue for you.
And it's not a bad idea to clear cache every now and again, especially if something is acting up.
 
Exactly. If it is behaving in a weird way ... Wipe Cache Partition.

On the Turbo it took 10-12 min to run ... on the Turbo 2 it takes 1 sec.
