Help Texting Problems On HTC Thunderbolt

My HTC Thunderbolt will send text messages to wrong people all the time. I will be in the right conversation but every now and then it sends the text to someone else that is in the text message log. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to fix this?
 
I haven't heard of that happening. But, If my girlfriend drops her MyTouch 4G to where the battery falls out or if she pulls the battery, her phone will send me a couple random texts that she's already sent me.

Does your girlfriend drop her phone where the battery falls out much? Kinda scary. O_O

Although I guess I get it. My SO drops the phone a lot too.

I have had this happen to me. From what I have learned it is a known potential issue with the T-bolt running Froyo. One of the Gingerbread features is that it is supposed to fix this. I have don't the update, and so far, I have not had a message go to the wrong person yet. I didn't get the notification from VZW, I just went into settings and checked for updates. Hope it helps you.
 
Yes, this has happened to me as well. And its embarrassing as well. I usually check to whom i'm sending before I hit the send button. sucks but you have to do it. Hopefully they will fix this.
 
This has been happening to me at least twice a week. Nothing more embarrassing than sending a text to a friend and have it go to my BOSS at midnight. I'm sick and tired of trying to explain why my texts go to the wrong folks, like the one that went to my buddy's wife, saying good morning sweetness and more. I'm on my 3rd TB, got the first on 2 weeks after they came out. After calling multiple times I got a second one. It was a refurb and it wouldn't activate. Next I managed to get an brand new one, much to my surprise. This one is as buggy and laggy as the first. 4G my ass. This thing isn't much faster than my Cricket android much of the time and I live in Houston which was one of the original roll out city's. Try loading up nfl.com/scores and get ready to cry as it barely moves as I try scrolling down to check scores. What's worse is sitting with friends that have other phones including the icrapper and see them breeze thru it. I'd ditch this thing in a heartbeat if VZ had another phone worth buying, which from what i've read they don't. It seems to me that all android phones suffer from one thing or another. I thank you all on this forum for the excellent info that y'all provide. I'm on here daily, even tho I'm mostly a lurker, more than I look at facebook just to keep up. I never do an OTA until I've read that it's a good one. I constantly think about rooting, but am not a tech kind of guy and am afraid I'll brick the damn thing. I've called VZ so many times that I figure whenever if ever they come up with a phone that works well that I'll change out. Again thank you all!
