Help Texting troubles while Abroad.

[Android Question]

So I'm in the UK for 2 weeks. Whenever I try to text a friend back home it tells me:
"no cellular network available connect to an available Wi-Fi network for messaging"

But the thing is I'm already connected. I'm on the home wifi in the house im staying in. Also according to T-Mobile I'm supposed to have unlimited data and text no extra charge while in the UK. Please help!

Have you enabled data roaming in your settings? If it's off it could maybe give that error.

The suggestion to use Wi-Fi for messaging has an implicit suggestion to use something other than SMS eg Telegram, WhatsApp, hangouts etc
