I have an S4 on T-Mobile and have used GoSMS since I had an S2. But recently not only has GoSMS started bombarding me with bloat but it also randomly does not send or receive texts properly. So I've given up using it and have started using Textra.
I want an SMS app that does the following - allows me to have LED and screen-on repeat notifications, display options and some kind of visual indication that a text has been sent successfully (because GoSMS made me paranoid). I like Textra A LOT, except for two minor problems.... My girlfriend has an iPhone and I've noticed that if she sends me a text with more than 65 characters (I've counted them
) Textra will break up her texts into multiples. This happened with GoSMS sometimes but only after I think 160 character. Also although it would happen very occasionally using GoSMS, using Textra I get a lot of duplicate messages from her when she texts.
Anyone know what I could do? Would changing the APN settings help? That's the only thing on Google searching the topic that seems like it could be relevant but that's for MMS messages only right?
PS: What do you guys use for SMS? So far I've tried GoSMS, Textra, Hello, Handcent, Chomp and Emerge, only GoSMS and Textra give me a good combo of notification, send and display options which is what I want. Although GoSMS ended up not sending or receiving half the time. I like the look of Emerge and Hello but they don't have very good notification and send/receive options.
