Help Texts appear to be from the 'wrong' person

So sometimes i receive a text and it will (for example) say its from matt when i know its actually from ian and if i just reply (to send back to ian) to it, it sends it to matt (who it thinks its from) not ian who actually sent it!!

any ideas?

happened to anyone else its happened a good few times now.

it happened to me , but on in the notification
like the notification shows the part of the sms and the sender , when I open it I see the real sender
but never had the same problem as you

and btw , that was on eclair and it was gone in the last 2 months
didn't face this on froyo yet

Happened to me a lot on 2.1 Eclair. They fixed this in 2.2 Froyo.

this kept happening to me on 2.1...say i had a text from my other half...id reply thinking obv it was going to her....then gettin a txt from my boss sayin WTF...when i looked it still said it went to my other half!!...so far after updating to 2.2...hasnt happened yet...but yeh it was very dodgy!!
