Help TF300T Digitizer replacement

I have a TF300T and very happy with it. My wife dropped it and cracked the screen. I searched ebay for replacement and did my research first. It appears that I have the rarest one. The 5158n version. I totally refuse to spend 2/3 of the price for a screen. Are there any alternatives? I read some other forums where you may be able to replace the PCB with a G01 or G03 but again don't want to spend an arm and a leg testing a theory. Any input would be helpful at this point.

I haven't seen much here about the digitizer but there are a bunch of people over at XDA talking about it. Several threads on the subject! Even some info on places to purchase parts! You may wanna check it out.
