TF700T do i ditch it or try to fix it?

Hello,

I could have sworn I asked this question before, but, I can't find it!

So, here's the deal - I'm stuck with a very expensive paperweight. I loved my tablet for the first 2 years. Now, I'm sick of it! I can only run one or two programs and cannot find a good browser app. I can type just fine with the keyboard attached, but can't save it without the program crashing!

I've looked at the idea of re-rooting my pad, but some of the information is just over my head! I'm not dummy - I learned how to program in COBOL - so I'm not afraid to do it, either. I'm just wondering if it is all worth the effort.

I'll never get back the $$ I put into the tablet. Should I just consider it a very expensive loss and use it only as storage? Help, please.

You should persevere and try putting Crombi KK on it. I was the same as you, very hesitant at first but I just read the instructions several times and then took it step by step. It worked fine and the Tablet is now a different animal. Here is the link.

Good luck

Well, over the last several months I have followed all the suggestions I could find, done work arounds for all the errors I encountered, and still, I'm left with a dog. A shame, really, when I first had this machine I had no problems! Thanks

Well, I worked my way through all of the CROMBi_KK's and now ZOMBI-POP and I got so fed up with the poor performance that when an opportunity arose I jumped to the Dark Side and bought a 128GB iPad Air 2 LTE. Wow, what an incredibly different experience. The Air 2 is a tablet I actually use on a regular basis instead of spending all my time trying to get it to work better. I have been a long-time fan boy ans also have 2012 & 2013 Nexus 7's and a Galaxy Note 4 but the iPad Air 2 is outstanding even taking into account the loss of configurability, etc. - at least it is always usable with no noticeable lag. I'll keep the TF700T and keyboard but will only use it as a tech toy, continually updating the custom ROM, etc.

Sparked,

Thanks for your input.

I'm anti Apple, so if you didn't go that way, what would you have purchased?
