So how much is Samsung paying you anyways?

And OMAP > hummingbird (which is sadly > the snapdragon my Droid Incredible has) But for most people in real world use, they're all basically the same (except there are DRIVERS for Snapdragon and OMAP).

The Hummingbird outperforms everything available right now.

That article clearly states that 2.2 boosts performance by 300%. Imagine how the Galaxy S will shoot to the top once it receives 2.2. You are right though, all of the 1ghz processors are very similar, but the Hummingbird is said to put out 3x the GPU performance of its competitors. So while they all might perform similarly in day to day processes, I still think my statement is pretty accurate when I say the Hummingbird is the best all around CPU out there right now.

But the Motorola Shadow, aka the Droid X is above the Galaxy S (1,100 to 750, or so). The X is running 2.1 on an omap 3640 chip. And OMAP procs have traditionally been very amiable to overclocking (should anyone want the battery to last 45 between charges).

Ah I missed that... gotcha. I'd be interested to see actual results from users once these phones are released. Either way, the Galaxy S will be far better than anything else TMo carries by a long shot, including that POS MyTouch Slide.

Yah, they need to get the Desire or N1.

Well once the stores actually start selling the N1, it will probably be fairly outdated. It will still be one of the top phones though.

But yeah, TMobile needs to start getting on board with some top phones. The Galaxy S and the Slide are a good start though.

That's rather debatable, the OMAP>HummingBird thing.

OMAP 1ghz processor hasn't been put against Hummingbird 1ghz yet I don't think.

Either way both are definitely better than snapdragon in any case.

I heard that the Hummingbird actually runs at approx 1.2GHz. Can anyone confirm this?

Nobody but you here gives a F***

that and the best processor in the world of smart phones. :)

why the f___ care about the processor!

Samsung will not support it once the next phone is ready.

The sega dreamcast had a better processor than the PS1 but the PS! outlived it.

buy a psp or ds if you wanna play little games......... me I will do it on my 55'' TV (vizio with AMOLED technology I might add) and my XBOX360.

I tried being ok with you spiz but really your love affair with Samsung is sickening.

It's suckers like you they plan on selling their next phone to in 6 months and I bet you will be on the Galaxy S board raving that their Dual core processor is 1.5x faster than the competition........ IT"S CALLED OVER/UNDER CLOCKING PUTZ...... err spiz.

I bet my slide sees froyo months before your samsuck pos and that you will never see a samsuck release gingerbread for it and you will be boohooing begging someone to port the epic 4g or fascinate rom.

Watch..................................................TO BE CONTINUED

That won't happen because the fascinate and epic won't see gingerbread if the vibrant doesn't and being a beting man (live in Vegas) I'd beat that never happens.

Side note: Galaxy s=galaxy social life (S-Life), so I wonder when they will bring a galaxy b=galaxy business life (B-Life). J/K

I don't think that is true.

I see Sprint and Verizon having the balls to pressure samsuck into the update (like sprint did with the moment) at&t could care less about any update that is not from apple.

If Tmo don't pressure them for it then it won't come and Tmo is ok with that because it means more money for them and Samsuck.

Samsung has already stated that all galaxy s phones will run the same os period! The carriers have only been allowed to add apps not make changes to the system or the way updates are release then pushed. Samsung will provide the update to all galaxy s phones or none believe it or not. There is absolutely zero chance one will get an os update and others won't, now maintenance updates are different as small updates will need to happen to keep the phone running smooth across the many different networks running different tech.

True but this isn't a promise to update! It's a promise that IF one gets an os update they all will, but I never said samsung would or wouldn't be doing updates.

BTW you should Notice that all the variations say galaxys on the back none say vibrant or epic or captivate or fascinate. No hardware or security differences at all! LISTEN IT IS NOT THE BEHOLD 2! So stop comparing the two. The phone is great...it's samsung as a company that sucks.

Oh I have no doubt that is it great hardware.

I am jealous of it at the moment, but I know in the end I made the right decision with the slide because it will be supported either via HTC or the community.

Agreed! I've been so happy with my slide. it's been helping to keep me away fro the tech blogs...a little, because I'm finally content with my phone so no more endless searches trying to make my phone useable like I had with the b2. I haven't even rooted it and have absolutely no plans to do so. I love the mt3gs stock, with the addition on launcher pro of course.

Do you think before you post? Do you honestly believe that Samsung will drop support for this phone? Do you really not think that the Galaxy S line won't be supported by the community? The same phone across all four carriers and 109 other countries. Really? You say that my love for Samsung is sickening, but to be honest, I don't even like Samsung all that much. The Galaxy S is a great phone, and I recognize that.

On the other hand, what is sickening is your blind hatred for Samsung that leads you to random baseless posts.

Will you be upset when HTC drops support for this phone because of the lackluster sales? We know Samsung will continue support because of how widespread the phone is being pushed, and they know they're on the radar. Common sense my friend.

The original mytouch, nexus one, hero/eris,and even the G1 (via community) will see android 2.2.

Name me a Samsung product prior to the Galaxy line that will see 2.2....

Behold 2........ nope.
Moment........ nope.
Galaxy i5700.... nope.

The Galaxy may be widespread but the store down the street from me still had 9 of their 10 in stock at 8pm tonight........... but the Slide was still on backorder :D

Its good for you that this phone is the same on all carriers so if one is supported they all will be............. kinda like HTC has been since day one (case in point 2.2 ported to the grand daddy 1).

Oh look, your hatred for Samsung is spewing all over the internet again. Enjoy your mid range device.
I have full reason to hate samsung and have no issue saying I hate samsung.

The phone is pretty sweet but as far as support goes I will not trust any company outside of HTC and its community. No Motorola and damn sure no Samsung. I had a Highlight and it had a lot of bugs , I had a Behold II and it had more bugs than a Super 8 motel, I even had an old phone on Sprint back in the day and the screen stopped working on it for no reason......twice.

My slide is not without its flaws...... my battery cover is loose as someones bowels after eating a pack of laxatives...... but 2-sided tape fixed that.

But in 9 months the only thing that will fix your phone's flaw is this:

Enjoy being ****ed by samsung again:D

Oh I have no problem with you hating Samsung or any other company for that matter. But when it blinds you to common sense, it actually becomes quite obvious. Comparing this phone to any of Samsung's previous phones is just plain silly.

In 9 months, there's a good chance I'll have upgraded yet again, so this will be a moot point. But I am confident Samsung will support this phone even though I don't plan on using it beyond 2.2.
