I just wanted to give a shout out to the Moderators, and Admins on this site to the recent post about being friendly, and having a "Zero Tolerance" policy in place for our members.

Reason being is because I think there are many forums out there and I am sure we all know which ones to think of, I wont mention them but they have turned into just crap due to all the negativity, and pissing contests that go on, on a day to day basis. I joined this forum and have met some out standing people that really have helped me in the whole android field of things, not once did they ever question me or not wanto help. I wanted to express my gratitude and say thank you to the forum members that have helped me in the past and will continue to help me. My time here has always been great, and at times I just thought all Tech forums have gone down the tubes with all the yelling "SEARCH SEARCH, n00b this, n00b that, your an idiot bla bla etc." This one was getting on my nerves and when I saw that shivers is putting a stop to this I am glad to see that someone is doing the right thing. I hope we can all be as friendly as the people that have helped me out. So please be reluctant to start screaming "search," and n00b lol...

Just like everyone else I came here for information, and came to learn. Now that I am pretty good on my toes I am now giving back to the Android community with my tutorial videos, and answering hundreds of questions on a day to day basis. Thank you again for teaching me, now its my turn to return the favor to all of you! So in turn I hope that everyone on here will get a chance to help some "n00b" out in the future. Because at one point in our lives we were all n00bs!! :p

Thanks!

I agree. I sat for TWO HOURS with 2 people in chat trying to help get me rooted. We didn't get it that night, but I eventually did based on their help. I'm sure with the questions I was asking they wanted to shoot themselves, but they just continued to help. Things like this will only make this forum continue to thrive and flourish...

Great job to the Admins/Mods/Minimods as well!

I don't have a Droid yet (maybe within the month) but I check this forum several times a day and have been bookmarking everything that I see that might relate to questions that I know I will have.
Really great forum. ;)

I'd like to thank you "VtotheZ" for your videos and the rest of the community for asking all the questions I didn't have to ask. Yeah, I'm a nOOb and all that, but allways willing to learn new stuff!
Peace out:cool:

I agree, I think this forum is the most helpful I've come across. A few times, I have posted questions that were asked before. I was told to search but still, members answered my question the best they could. Some people don't understand that sometimes, people are new the the whole "forums" concept and searching for answers. It may be a hard concept, but not everyone has been using forums for years and sometimes we forget this stuff (:

I agree, I checked out several other Android forums at the same time I found this one, it didn't take long at all to settle into just participating in this one. I haven't had any of the problems that the rules pertain to, but I think they are a good idea nonetheless.

While I'm sure your intentions are good, this is a BIT off-topic. This section is for discussion of the Motorola Droid, not the moderators :p

It might be a bit off-topic but thanks are always a good thing and I second them. I am usually a bit timid asking for help because people are so quick to flame you but not so much in AndroidForums and that is thanks in large part to the zero tolerance stance as well as to folks like you, el blacksheep, who go out of their way to offer help and advice rather than criticism. It makes us all feel welcome. Even n00bs and dummies.

While we love to have our Ego's stroked, the guys are right, this is a bit off topic.

But I personally would like to thank you for your support, and help with getting the situation sorted and under control, and you patience why we try an tame some of the more unfriendly comments.

I'll shift this to lounge for now, so if anyone else feel like dishing out any more praise...

:)

It's hard to enforce something like this and we're doing our best - so it's good to see some positive feedback on it. Appreciate it.

We did the same thing about a year ago. Although, it ended a lot quicker. (...course, we did have far fewer users)

Whereas I don't do this job to get praise, I do appreciate kind words when I feel like I'm doing something good for the community. I started off here as a member just like everyone else and always want the best for AF. But, we can only achieve that with everyone's help. So, keep reporting those troublemakers and we'll take care of the rest. :)

lets not forget though, flooding the forum with duplicate posts and misinformation can also make a forum go sour just as quickly =\
