this is my first try at debugging a failed update phone, kind of baffled but getting there, would like to thank everyone here for sharing,finding the info here invaluable.

We have several Samsung Galaxy S2 boards, which you may find helpful. You can view a complete list of all phones' forums here and then pick the right one for your model.
