You folks have been a wonderful source of info, and I appreciate your hospitality, so I figured I'd stop being rude and actually introduce myself.

I have yet to actually touch an android phone. I love advanced devices and I love all things Google, so android seems like an obvious choice for me.

I haven't gotten one yet, due to my employer.

I work in tech support for a carrier... that's big... and red. Won't even be trained on the platform until later this week.

My personal line upgrade seems perfectly timed... November 16. Not the first day the droid's released, but at least a few days for some reviews to come in, and see if the rumors are true about the HTC phones coming out right away.

And please don't ask me any release dates. Truly everything I know, I've gotten online. I get no info from my employer before you do!
 
Welcome! heh... My friends who work for "Big Red" also say that customers get the new phones before employees, so I hope Motorola has made enough for there to be some left on the 16th for you!
 
Welcome! I would say your arrival at VZW is perfectly timed for Android. Unfortunately your first couple months on the job is going to be SWAMPED!

Thanks Rob... especially for this wonderful source of info!

New to android but not vzw. I'm counting on android appealing to more tech savvy folks to keep us from getting buried in non-issue calls. But I'm sure I'll get the call from the old guy who doesn't know how to use a computer who asks me why he's not getting email on his droid, even though he doesn't even have an email address!
