I wanted to say thanks to everyone ...... I am a first time smart phone user, who decided on the Optimus Elite mostly because of this forum ..... Of course the Radio Shack deal didn't hurt either - hehe.
I was a bit hesitant because of the battery issues so many seem to have, but bit the bullet anyway. My unit seems to be ok, as long as 3G is turned off when not in use. ( I'm thinking it's a rural thing ..... If I leave it on all day I am at 20% power at the end of the day. If I turn data off when not used, I have 70% left at the end of the day.... 16 hours-ish)
I am coming from a huge Big V bill to a Virgin Mobile $35 bill .... could not be happier. Sipdroid/Google Voice on my home WIFI easily gives me the ability to keep my minutes inside the 300 limit. Root is not a big issue for me, but when an easy method become available, I am sure I will give it a shot.
