I woke up this morning to an OTA Update to my DX!

I'm now running 2.2!!

-Volume isn't louder (I don't think..)
-No flash -- Will install beta later


Will post pics later :)))



Anyone else get the update this morning?

If it is 2.2 how is it not running flash? That sucks Volume didnt get fixed. Is it snappier? Less lag?
 
You have to download flash separately.

But this is the first report I've seen anywhere at all of someone getting 2.2. Pics or it didn't happen.
 
I just manually checked for the update and it says my device is up to date. That's weird how you got the update.

show a pic of your OS and your phone, hes just trying to stir up a useless thread
 
I think i have it figgered out...
He had a update to FROYO and than he woke up...
he just had the stuff in the wrong order !!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes:

I too woke up this morning and saw that I received 2.2 on my phone last night.. Then I realized that I was holding my wifes Droid 1 and not my Droid X.. I call BS on the guys comment that he received 2.2. Like everyone said show us the pics..
 
You have to admit its very entertaining now everyone on this forum has sucker written all over their forehead when 2.2 is mentioned.
 
While the subject makes me want to not believe him too, I doubt ericnail would pull this as a practical joke, unless he has one very weird sense of humor. He's been one of those helpful people that I've noticed when trying to gain some traction here. He said he will post pictures later, so stop asking for them. I think I remember hearing in an article that Verizon would be slowly pushing the update to random lucky customers in an attempt to do a sort of, "surprise," beta test. I don't know if that's true as I can't fully remember the article, but there's a bit of merit in it.

I recommend all of you DX owners trying this.

Dial this: *#*#checkin#*#* (*#*#2433546#*#*) and hit Send. Wait for it to say something along the lines of, "check-in complete." Then check for a software update. I doubt anyone else will be able to receive it, because if ericnail is telling the truth, then Verizon either made a fluke or they're really doing the rumored beta testing.

Post back with results.

I tried *#*#2433546#*#* and *#*#2432546#*#*(this one actually spells checkin) and neither of them work.
 
You have to do them together, not one or the other.
