That old chestnut - One-way syncing problems

Gunjin

Newbie
Am sure there is an obvious solution to this but searching the problem seems to produce the same answer which does not apply to my scenario:

I have Outlook 07 and HTC sync 3 on a Legend with Android 2. I have new calendar entries on the phone set to PC Sync (by default as there are no other menu options) and HTC Sync conflict resolution set to the most recent version. Dates/times on both PC and phone are both up to date. All calendar/contact syncs work fine going from PC to phone but never ever work from phone to PC.

Ideas?

I gave up on HTC Sync and now use MyPhoneExplorer. Free client on the pc and app on the phone. Works over wifi.

Just spent the last hour trying MPE. It works.... just about and at a cost.

It is a terrible, unintuitive design (OK, i admit what syncing software isnt?) and gave me a succession of error messages on my pc (references to an application error without stating what application it is referring to) and the phone (only works when HTC sync is selected which then presents a cannot find HTC sync error message); it has also caused problems with Outlook (opening/closing problems and "connection to outlook failed!"). Little by way of instructions too. Why is there a separate android app when the PC client seems to install the same software on the phone?
However i did get it to do 2-way syncing once or twice but not sure I can put up with the constant error messages and failed syncs.

Are there any (more professional) alternatives?

They have a good forum at ... FJ Software :: Forum anzeigen - English section ... "Definitely" worth checking that out before writing off the SW. I use Outlook 2000 on XP Pro SP3 over wifi and have zero problems. Remember to start the phone app before trying to connect.

As for no instructions, you can find them but they're not obvious I agree. But such is life in the android app world. Remember the SW is free as well!

Sure, I have no problem paying for a professional solution. This however is not it...
