The best app for organizing apps into folders...

Want go give this a bump for my recommendation and how I use it.

1. I use this to look at all my apps INSTEAD of using the regular app drawer. I do this because I can look at my important apps without all the bloatware getting in the way (City ID, Clock, Call History, Peep, etc. ). This helps when you have 100+ apps, and are looking for the right one.

I do this by putting the Other Apps folder on my homepage. I include all apps except for the ones mentioned and games. A folder opens up with all the apps I actually use.

2. I use this for games. Every time I get a game and keep it I add it to my games label.
 
I use the same app for organizing my apps into folders. I find the best part being that you can customize the folder image to whatever...I'm all about personalization!
 
I also like Smart Shortcuts. It's a similar app, but it handles text-wrapping better and it's less laggy in my experience opening a shortcut (App Organizer opens a folder pop up and then populates it w/ icons... takes a second.) Smart Shortcuts holders open instantly. Smart Shortcuts also supports icon packs.

That said, I still use App Organizer for my Music Folder... I love the headphones icon that is included! One thing it has that Smart Shortcuts doesn't is an "X" button to close the folder, you have to use your back button.

I just tried Smart Shortcuts. The performance didn't seem any faster than App Org. (App Org is slow sometimes, but gets faster after the first time you load it). Also, it does not allow me to create a shortcut for "Other Apps", which means I'd have to sort every app I get, as opposed to just filtering out the crap I don't want. So for me, I'll stick with App Org.

Side note, you can have the 'X' close button, it's in the options.
 
Dibs... good point, It lists "other apps" so I didn't realize you couldn't make a short cut for it. That's a great idea to use that category as a filtered app drawer!
 
I'm digging the stock folders, myself. I have one for games, one for news, one for travel stuff....
 
Just found this thread. Is anyone aware of how to organize the actual app drawer? I hate hitting the "all apps" button and seeing all that garbage.

It's really an ugly layout - Android team needs to really fix that aspect of it.
 
here is mine which i love.

My camera and facebook which are custom pictures that i can change(i love switching things up) inside my camera is-
cam, camera gallery photobucket and qik. my facebook has that and freindstream. two clicks-

music, nav, wallpapers and games hold 40 apps/widgets.
teo clicks to get what i need.

That's my folders to keep it all organized.

We got Games, Sports, Shopping, Misc., Social, Media, Phone, Tools (Calc/etc.), Other Apps not yet labeled, and then the actual app itself.
 
I use Autoapporganizer. It automatically puts new apps into a newbie folder AND assigns them to their actual folder such as games or apps or tools etc. It allows you to uninstall staright from the app. after you have decided to keep the app you can move it from newbs into a keep folder. or you can set it so it auto does that after a certain time..It really is everything you would need in app organization.
 
Anybody know a way to just change icons on the stock folders, or alternatively, is there a folder app that allows drag & drop? I'm currently using AppMate because it's dead simple to learn and has a selection of icons, but I do miss the stock ability to simply drag apps into folders.
 
I'm using App Categories at the moment after using App Organizer for a while. Dragging and dropping would be awesome! That's the one thing I miss from the stock folders.
 
Sorry I'm new to this htc droid incredible...how do i get the app to organize all my apps? the way it comes is to cluttered for me

Right now I'm using Folder Organizer. There's a free "Lite" version, but I don't use that one so I can't tell you the difference. It seems to load the pop-up menu faster than other apps, and works really well with my Android7 Layout.

I haven't used it for more than a minute, but another good one is fairly new: SiMiFolder Widget. It has some nice scrolling features (may have to use ADWLauncher or LauncherPro to get the scrolling to work). I just stopped using it because it doesn't work as a shortcut using Desktop Visualizer.

AutoAppOrganizer is exactly what I was looking for.

Now I just I have about 10 of my essential / regularly used apps on my home screen and the AutoAppOrganiser on there as well for all my other apps. It brings up a list of categories which allows me to access all my apps really quickly on a couple of taps.

Brilliant and automatic so I don't have to waste time doing any 'housekeeping' of my apps myself.
