The Borgias

The tudors started off slow for the first 3 episodes but then it picked up. I enjoyed it alot

There were a couple of things about it that I just couldn't get over.

First: At the point in time the story picks up, Henry had already sustained a hunting accident and was well on his way to becoming the large gouty guy we all recognise. I realize that no one wants to watch a sore ridden tyrant make it with girls half his age, but such bad history just bugged me.

Second (and most offensive in my nerdy mind): The costumes were fugly. Some grotesquely fugly. As a lover of historic dress I found them hugely offensive. I wrote a paper on the atrocity for my History of Costume class and got an A. I know, my priorities here are really messed up but, really, I would rather gouge my eyes out with a dull pencil than be forced to watch this horror show!

On the other hand, the costuming in the Borgias is beautiful. Costume porn if you will. My husband laughs at me every time I murmur "I need that dress!", which happens at least once each week.

The one thing that has bugs me so far, is the music selection. I love it, but it isn't always period correct.
