The Four-Word Song Lyric Game

Don't know this one yet, but see great potential in this thread. Just can't think beyond the already good guesses made......another clue? Era, genre, etc?

I admit, straight up, I cheated to come up with what I believe is the answer:(

Can't take credit for a win, won't post my answer, (does the {hide spoiler} option no longer exist, or am I just not seeing it?)

I hope to see this thread continue, and think this was a good question, only a little bit of a "trick question", suspect those who have already guessed will go "of course, well done!" when they hear answer.

Without mucking things up, may I repeat (and add):

Set in Chicago, and the music not merely part of the background score, an integral part of the title and plot.

C'mon, lets keep playing!!!!
Pretty sure the previous clue is The Blues Brothers - "Everybody Needs Somebody"

Wanna' keep playing, gonna', pretend like I'm right for sure......And gonna' submit three new to chew on in parallel; Any victory can negate all three, or go ahead and post, yours, and we can keep working on more than one at once!:) Lots and lots of clues at the ready if/when any gets stale and old, just ask.;)

1) "...heat pipes just cough..."

2) "...earn more than you..."

3) (Dickishly trying to be clever:rolleyes:, but hey....clues available.) "...baby, baby, baby, baby....." ('cause hardly any rock songs use the word "baby":D

"Ding...Ding...Ding“...you Are Correct!

I will attempt to try to guess at least one of your songs...but it might take a bit of time.

Effort to "BUMP" this thread, (and only this one);)

1) "In this room the (heat pipes just cough)"

2) "A poster saying we (earn more than you)"

3) "Baby, baby, (baby, baby, baby, baby), baby, baby"

(Lord, it's fun being a dick!:D). Ask me for another clue to #3, see if I'm any less of one the next time, I dare ya'.;)

My I have another clue?

Hmmmmm.......Lemme' think.

More lyrics (later if helpful), but enough for now.
(Although) Don't want to drag this on forever, let me know if this starts to suck.

1) Iconic artist, very famous, continually active since early '60's, very, very well known for lyrics, and very prolific.

2)Band started in the late 70's, fused together a wide variety of influences, and billed as "The only band that matters"

3)This is a cover of a very famous rock song, by guys well known for their hats. (Not necessarily D-head hats, that's my thing this week);)

Okay...so I am going to take a Crack at guessing...

1. Mick Jagger

2. The Clash

3. Jimmy Hendrix

Your #3) guess is no help to you for any clue (today).

Your #2) response is very helpful to you for clue #2

And your #1) guess is very helpful for clue #3)!:D

Edit: Can someone school me on a quick and dirty way to hot link back to the original posting containing the initial clues, prevent you and others from having to search for them, scroll up and down, page back and forth?

(Other than) quoting myself, cutting and pasting, or other crude techniques? Make things more helpful and fun for all.

Shameless "bump" to try and keep this thread going along, :D.........and put this clue out of it's misery!

Post #42 is the original clue, @kct1975 is getting very close to 2nd song, (if you keep working on it, I'll keep waiting.);) And closing in on the 3rd. #3 is a well known but odd cover of a very famous Jagger / Richards song.

1) "In this room the (heat pipes just cough)"

2) "A poster saying we (earn more than you)"

3) "Baby, baby, (baby, baby, baby, baby), baby, baby"

N'other shameless bump, a little more. (please put this clue out of it's misery!), word on the street is, this stopped being fun weeks ago.;)

1) " .....from the opposite loft. In this room the (heat pipes just cough)."
Gut wrenching song of lost love, pushing 50 years old, now. (Sigh)

2) "We put up a poster saying we (earn more than you), we're"
Angry, angry song of rebellion and contempt for the rules, 35 years old (or so) now.....(sigh)

3)"Baby, baby, (baby, baby, baby, baby), baby, baby maybe come back later next week....."
The original version also pushing 50 years old now, the cover quoted here roughly 35 years old now. Sigh.

I swear, I'm not that old, I just don't know music any better.........And not much music any better was done after about 1990, so why should I apologize to the likes of you?;):p

#1 is Mayonaise by the Smashing Pumpkins
#2 is Knocking on Heaven's door originally by Bob Marley, better known by EricClapton
#3 I have no idea.
