Not officially.............. but will get a working version. (several are quite near to completion already ;)
 
yeah but ive seen the 3rd party ones ....no facial recognition....etc whats the point of ics if you dont get all the ics? lol

I think the ones people speak off are gigerbread with ICS skinning.

The major issue I see with this is the fact ace is still sold in shops right now, its not an obselete phone. So the message from samsung is they not willing to support non highend current handsets.

I am amazed you found a news article on it, it seemed to me the media wasnt caring about the ace. I even watched a cnet phone expert on a news clip going on about how "everyone" will eventually get ICS, as she seemed oblivious to the fact many handsets wont get it period.

i hear that! ive met so many forum members with triple the knowledge to those so-called experts:D
 
true!

There are though several ports which are actual ICS. Wont get the face recognition but everthing else will work. (dont forget Gingerbread introduced Gtalk voice and NFC which the ace didnt get!)

its quite frustrating to be fair that it wont get it officially but to be honest - being a 3 customer im quite surprised they actually updated past 2.3.3!

If they releasing 5.0 in april this year then things are getting ridicilous, there is such as thing as too fast development.
 
Even if they did release ICS I would still probably stick to the dev's version of ICS because:
1.)It takes about a million updates for samsung to actually release a proper rom with no bugs.
2.)Custom roms rock.

can anyone show me a ics for the acve that has everything working? cam,gprs, so fourth?
i was looking at thros rom but the cams not working right?

There is only one out there and it's in its beta stage. It's quite usable(except for the camera of course) gprs is working. Its in its beta 6 stage and its awesome.. Can't wait for the complete version.

I installed Beta 6 of CM9 (now based on 4.0.4) and the camera wasnt working. apart from that it was very fast and stable. When the camera works (soon I hope) it will be my daily driver. Until I get galaxy note of course. :D

It was like getting a new phone it was that good!!

Ps CM7.2 has nightly releases from official maintainer now. not many bugs remain. worth a try :)
