Well.... let's hear from anyone who received their S6. Do you like it? First impressions? Any regrets?
I pick mine up at BB, at 10:00am this morning. It's going to be tough to keep my hands off it for the rest of the day. :)
 
Well, i got mine at 10:00am. I had the first appointment apparently. Not much time to play with it yet. But i did notice that hiding unused or apps that you don't want easily seen, is not an option any more.
Nice phone. Feels good in my hand.
 
Just got home to start fooling around with my S6. I set my wireless Samsung Charger up, and to my surprise, it will charge my phone through the OtterBox Defender case. :)
 
Hiding or disabling is certainly still an option. I am using Nova Launcher if it makes a difference.
Didn't have much time to play with the new toy last night, but looking forward to it today! :)
 
Got mine yesterday on launch day at Best Buy. Upgraded my device with my carrier. Got a black one.

The Good
-premium look and feel (glass and aluminium look superb)
-screen rendering and resolution is sharp, clear, vibrant
-flow is good, feels responsive, have not seen any significant lag (yet) - guess the octa-core drives this baby good
-thin (no bulk added in a jacket or coat pocket) - good for people who wear suits
-IMO the speaker sounds better than the S5 or Note 4 (I have owned both)
-finger print detection is superb (miles ahead of previous versions) (up to par with iPhone)
-camera results are great (even in low light)

The 'not so good' or could be better
-battery life (like S5) (no improvement) (should last a day but if you watch many videos it won't)
-although Gorilla Glass back finish is stunning it is and always will be a fingerprint and smudge magnet
-Themes is a good idea (where's the beef?) not many choices and current ones IMO are fugly (personal taste)
-I don't mind that there is no expandable memory however, lack of removable battery is a bit of a downer
 
I like it other than the less than stellar battery life. I would like to figure out how to only show contacts with phone numbers. I can't find that setting so far. Anyone?:(
 
I got mine last Thursday the 9th in the mail. I just switched from Iphone5 and this is my first Samsung. It looks ok out of the box but I have to get used to the way they are laid out and the android environment. I used AT&T's transfer app to move stuff from my Iphone to the S6 and now it's all out of whack so I will have to try to reorganize things. Can you make folders to separate pics on the S6 like you can on the Iphone?

My biggest issue is my PC is not recognizing my phone! I have done all of the usual stuff like uninstall drivers, down load from Samsung, yada yada yada and still get the unrecognized device with the yellow caution symbol but it is also doing the same thing to my Iphone so I have to try and get that figured out!

I do not like the fact that this is the first phone I have had where you don't have an option to sync to outlook email, contacts, tasks and notes! What's up with that? Is that a common thing with the Samsung phones or just the S6? I will still give it a little while for the "Break in" and adjustment period before I pass to harsh of judgement

Android 5.x is seriously lacking in that feature! It was a chore just to find a way to make a shortcut to view all contacts. Previously, I could just select the phone button/app, and then select the contacts tab. Now, if I press a contact after reaching it via phone (for, say, to look up the address), it just dials straightaway. I know of no way to do it via the Contacts and/or Phone screens. The closest to that is in a 3rd-party SMS app (like Hancent) which will allow you to display only those contacts with "mobile" numbes.

tankerzuke - I HIGHLY recommend the "Nine" app for Exchange-related things. Please just trust me that the $10 is WELL, WELL worth it! I have three separate Exchange servers/domains that I need to configure on my phone. I spent almost an entire week installing different (read: backrev'd) Exchange and Mail apks. What I was looking for was for my Exchange contacts to appear when I went to call or SMS, but more importantly , to be able to configure "VIP" email addresses for which to be alerted, instead of being alerted to all or none. The Nine app is, I believe, still 50% off at $10. WELL worth it!

My S6 has been running well since Friday. It is like a star with the brightness all the way up. For some reason on T-Mobile, changing to the 4G network from the LTE network sped up browsing?? My only complaint is that the backlight on the touch capacitive keys cant be turned off (quite annoying in dark places).
