Gentlemen,
and ladies too I assume
I need your assistance. I never ask for help (a couple of times I probably should have) but I have the strangest problem on my hands. Maybe this is an easy fix, I sure as heck hope so, and if it is then my hats are off to you.
I thought I lost this phone but I just found it in a box in my storage unit so it hasn't been touched for probably 18 months, I know its not a hardware issue because I remember others having these same problems but at this point those threads are long gone.
First some backstory, trust its relevant. I got my beautiful sgs a couple years ago, came stock with Froyo 2.2.1, it was great. Being the guy that I am I wanted Gingerbread, but the Samsung official update was nowhere to be seem at that point so I decided to roll the dice and try to get some 2.3 action with a custom rom. Being that this was my first Android device, I was not quite as savvy as I am now, and I chose I believe a version of darky's rom that was based on an international kernel. That's when the problems started.
The issues:
Accelerometer its completely off, phone thinks it is sideways when its upright.
Sound is reversed somehow, audio works when you plug something into the jack.
You would think these issues would go away with flashing a different rom right? Nope, I have gone stock Froyo, official gingerbread update, the new update, ics, newer darky's, newest cm7, cleared all data/caches along the way, factory reset a thousand times and I'm ready to flip! I've tried calibrating the accelerometer in Froyo but that doesn't help.
Does anyone have any possible suggestions? I have a new Android device, but I think this one would make a great little gaming device. Any ideas would be much appreciated..
Also, I've browsed hundreds of threads but if I somehow missed the solution in one of them then I sincerely apologize, I know how much it irks me when someone's does that.
