The more it does, the more it doesnt'

Seems that I am finally able to sync both ways using CompanionLink. Will need to achieve the comfort level that I had with my BB Bold.

Hello PalmOS users.

Not_sirius, I understand you PERFECTLY!

I've been a Palm user since my old Palm m125. After having evolutioned through several Palm models, nowadays I have a Palm Centro, but I've tried to change it a few times:
- Dell Axim X5: Used Windows Mobile, but could only sync my appointments once, after that the Activesync crashed (I have YEARS of appointments).
- Palm Pre: It was too new, so the Classic didn't work correctly and there was nearly no software :-( and it synced only with Google!
- Palm Pixi Plus: Was better, but Classic is very limited, and I don't like that the appointments have to be every 5 minutes. Also there was no event alarm repeat.

And now I've come to Android, because it is supposed to be more free (Linux) than iPhone.

And for people who asks why do I want to change I'll say that my Centro has many problems with GSM coverage, and I want a PDA with integrated Wifi and GPS, and now my GPS app (TomTom) don't release any new app or map for Palm.

So I'm stuck with PalmOS, and I'm trying to move to a Android (I've looked at Garnet VM but it also has its limitations).

My problem is that I want, at least, my complete PIM. I've been using Outlook for years, and even that I have a Gmail account, I don't like to upload all my events and contacts to Google.

I have tried EVERYTHING for Android:
- Exchange: Isn't suitable for me. I have Exchange at work and Outlook don't support to be connected to two Exchange servers (work and personal) at the same time.
- Funambol (Memotoo): The sync program for Android (Synthesis SyncML) only supports calendar and contacts, and not with several categories at the same time.
- Google calendar: Android calendar only syncs the last month, and I have years of events (I've found a calendar search for Android, but I don't want just a search, I want to browse the calendar to see what I did 3 months ago).
- MyLink Access: The free version only syncs 5 elements of each type, will it support my more that 1.600 contacts and more than 10.000 events? I don't know, but it doesn't sync with the native Android calendar, so I would loose the opportunity of using more advanced calendar apps like iRT Calendar, Jorte or Calendar Pad Pro.
- The Missing Sync: The bi-directional sync needs Android 2.x, and I have Android 1.6.
- CompanionLink and DejaOffice: It's my last opportunity. They're continuously improving the apps so I wish they reach what I need.

So, for the moment, I'm using both my Palm Centro and Xperia X10... maybe one day Xperia (Android) will grow enough as to suit my needs.

I know that people is going to tell me that I'll loose functionalities when moving from PalmOS to Android or whatever other OS, I know, I'll have to loose my sync with Microsoft Money for example, but I live and die by my calendar, I need a decent PIM!!!

Good luck Not_sirius!!! And please, share your experiences and explain the rest of us how have you replaced PalmOS with Android apps ;-)

Outlook 2010 connects to two exchange accounts. I realize that is only 1 issue, but just saying!
