I'm rooted on oem 1.6 w/univ. androot and got my update this morning. First update installed fine but second update failed because I remove amazon mp3. Can someone help me reinstall it to /system?

I accidentally deleted my backup...

I need to figure out how to push the app to /data/app, since it was originally a system app that titanium backup removed for me.

If you're rooted and want to try the new Official AOSP 2.2 OTA you can grab it here.

I've been running it on the MT3G 1.2 and it works flawlessly

Official AOSP 2.2 OTA -- Flash for Dream - xda-developers

So far it's faster than CM6

Hmm, thanks for that, but I'm really trying to get the official OTA update.

Yea I hear you. For me though, I need root & busybox.

I don't even know what it's like to run stock anymore.

EDIT - also for pushing apps, the easiest way is to use file explorer, just copy, cut, move and paste. Then reboot

Thanks for my other thread too, but File Managers get denied since this is a stock rom, rooted w/universal androot.

I received the update yesterday morning. I think everything on my phone transferred over okay except I had to sync my gmail contacts to get my contact list back on the phone after the update.(so make sure you have your contact list synced/backed up before updating) I found USB tethering is included under the wireless settings. I have not noticed any difference in my phones performance overall. I have had to get used to taping instead of swiping up to open the app menu. I don't know what I am going to do with the extra two home screens.

I got a text message from tmobile saying its a two part update and should be done within a couple weeks.

Kinda sucks that im rooted. Would be nice if someone comes out with the root version thats 5x better then what tmobile comes out with. (remove all the bloat ware)

O well ill wait. Might be getting the HD anyways.

So is the mytouch running in to the all known to well problem of the new os crippling the phone? I had a iphone 3g and boy oh boy did os4 mess it up. I actually switched back to the mytouch because of it.

I've seen people on the tmobile forums saying the official update is really fast, much better than CM6, some even say on par with 1.6.

I got that message today, but am wondering if the update will be a problem on my phone. The about phone display shows:
Firmware Version - 2.1-update 1
Baseband Version - 62.50SC.20.17H_2.22.23.02
Kernel Version - 2.6.34-cyanogenmod root@pershoot-ubuntu #68
Mod Version - CyanogenMod-5.0.8-DS
Build Number - EPE54B

What do you think? Problems or no?

Give it a week or 2 and our devs will put something out like that. Look what they did for 1.6.

I have an unlocked mytouch, using it as a back up on ATT. I contacted HTC customer service and they said that it goes by the IMEI number, not the carrier and should get the OTA update.
